A friendly reminder as you think about your horse’s health needs for 2012.
When it’s time for your horse’s annual vaccinations, keep in mind that last year (2011) in Ontario there were 8 confirmed cases of West Nile Virus Disease and 3 of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE or “Triple E” or Sleeping Sickness) in horses, and a donkey was also diagnosed with EEE.

Once again we will be promoting dentistry this fall and early winter. Having your horse’s teeth routinely done aids in optimum food utilization during the cold winter months. OVLAC recommends annual floating for horse 12yrs and under. Bi-annual checkups are recommended for older patients and those with special dental issues.

animal clinic and referral centre. Our practice is 90% equine
and 10% mix of cattle, goats, and sheep. We are pleased
to offer farm calls and daily in-clinic appointments and
preventative care programs.
As a service to our valued full-time clients,
we also provide emergency on-call service
24 hours a day
7 days a week.
Dear OVLAC Clients
We understand that both our time and yours is valuable. In order to minimize repeat phone calls while still allowing you to plan your days, we are implementing the following time blocks in regards to farm calls.
Please understand that we are a mobile large animal practice. Times given are ESTIMATED to the best of our ability.
ORDER OF GO WILL BE DETERMINED BY 8AM FOR THAT PARTICULAR DAY FOR EACH VETERINARIAN
TIME BLOCKS
AM Before 11:00 am
Mid Day 11:00 – 2:30 pm
PM After 2:30 pm
The staff of the OVLAC will do their best to notify you should emergencies change your estimated time block.
Please note: OVLAC also provide IN Clinic appointments at specific times for a complete work up, diagnosis and treatment, as well as 24/7 emergency response for our clients.
