Palpation of the uterus and ultrasound is used to evaluate ovarian structures and the health of the uterus prior to breeding to determine the optimal time for breeding and management of the mare.
o We recommend that broodmares have a uterine swab at the beginning of the breeding season to ensure the uterus is free of contaminants prior to breeding activity. Mares should be in heat when the swab is performed to obtain the most accurate sample.
We offer artificial insemination with both chilled and frozen semen. Mares being bred with frozen semen need to be brought to the clinic due to the more precise timing required for successful breeding with frozen semen.
Other reproduction services include semen evaluation and stallion collection
